Welcome to Dance For The Diaspora. To ensure a smooth experience, please review the following logistical details for the day's events at the Multicultural Arts Center.
Public transit or carpooling is strongly encouraged, as local street parking is limited and primarily residential.
Public Transit: The venue is located 500 feet from the Lechmere Station (Green Line). It is also a 15-minute walk from the Community College Station (Orange Line) and Kendall/MIT Station (Red Line). Nearby bus routes include the #69, #80, #87, and #88.
Parking Garages: The closest paid parking is available at the East Cambridge Parking Garage (located on Spring Street, between First and Second Streets) or the First Street Parking Garage. Space can also be reserved in advance via parking applications like SpotHero.
$30 - Includes an all-access pass for ALL workshops for the The Multicultural Arts Center is fully ADA accessible. An elevator services both the lobby and the theater level, and a wheelchair ramp is accessible from the Second Street sidewalk. Two designated accessible parking spaces are located directly outside the lobby entrance on Second Street.
Lunch is not provided. Attendees are encouraged to utilize nearby restaurants for takeout or delivery during the break. The following dining options are located within walking distance along Cambridge Street and First Street:
Lone Star Taco Bar – Taqueria and small plates.
Orale Mexican Grille – Quick-service Mexican fare.
Souper Roll Up Café – Wraps, soups, and sandwiches.
CambridgeSide Food Hall – Located a five-minute walk from the venue, offering a variety of fast-casual dining selections.
ATTIRE + PACKING CHECKLIST
Clothing: Wear comfortable attire suitable for movement.
Change of Clothes: Bringing a secondary outfit to change into later in the day is highly recommended.
Hydration: Please bring a refillable water bottle. Water stations will be available on-site.
FAMILIES + CHILDREN
Children are admitted free of charge with a registered adult. Children are welcome to move, express themselves, and participate fully; their presence and energy are an essential part of this gathering.
COMMUNITY ACCESS + TICKET SPONSORSHIP
This event functions as a fundraiser for the Museum of African American History (MAAH). However, financial constraints should not prevent anyone from attending. No one will be turned away due to a lack of funds.
